57th Annual Founders' Day Celebration

“Overcoming Obstacles While Building Strong Communities to Reach New Heights”

Clubs are required to celebrate Founders’ Day annually to recognize the shoulders on which we stand and the role and responsibility we have to prepare our young people for the future. This observance is the occasion to present the Sojourner Truth award to an outstanding African American woman. This is the highest award given by the Association and presented by a local club. The award was established in 1948.

The 57th Annual Founders' Day was held on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Highlight of the event included honoring our community award recipients and providing scholarships to four (4) High School Seniors from the Class of 2021. The Sojourner Truth Award was presented to Past National President Peola Smith-Smith for her decades of service to the community and to NANBPWC, Inc.
